The tour starts at Oude Binnenweg 137, in front of the ‘Swan’ gift shop, right next to the big Santa Claus statue. You can find a Google maps location here

The tour ends in the Markthal. This is a big inside food market. Click here to see it on Google Maps.

The tour is about 2.5 to 3 hours, depending on photo moments, walking speed, time we take for a break and how much the guide is telling. The walk is about 6 kilomters / 3.7 miles and 15.000 steps.

The Netherlands is famous for it unpredictable weather, and therefore it is always a good idea to check the weather forecast thoroughly. Good shoes are essential, as we will be walking quite some on this tour.

What to bring 🎒🥾:
– Shoes you feel comfortable walking on for a longer period of time.
– A little snack just in case you get hungry (we end in de Markethal with lots of food)
– Water or something else to keep you hydrated (drinking alcohol in public is not allowed in the Netherlands)
– Weather appropriate clothing: warm hat, good coat, thick socks, gloves and thermal clothing if you’d like.

In summer:

  • Bring enough water
  • Bring a small snack
  • Bring sunscreen
  • Bring a hat

In winter:

  • Bring gloves and hat
  • Wear good (thick) socks
  • Double layer-up, if needed
  • Make sure your shoes are not too thin
  • Bring enough water
  • Bring a small snack

In general:

  • Check the weather forecast
  • In case of rain, check if there is wind, as your umbrella might not hold
  • Bring a raincoat in case of predicted rain

🎫Tickets for public transport

It is good to know you can use your debit/credit card to travel by public transport, as long as it has contactless payment. This works for train, bus, tram, and metro.
If you take the tram or bus, make sure to check in AND out when leaving the tram or bus.

If you prefer an actual ticket, you could look for the ‘OV Verkoop’ machines, which you can find inside the metro or train stations. Here, they sell OV-cards, which you need to charge with money. These cards work for all public transport.

You could use https://www.9292.nl/ to plan your trip.

How to get there From the Central Train Sation🚂(Rotterdam Centraal)

You can reach the starting location by tram and metro. You can use your debit and credit card to pay for public transport in Rotterdam (tram/train/bus/metro). It is also possible to buy a temporary OV card at one of the ‘Verkoop’ OV-machines in metro or train stations.
